Volunteer Partnerships for West Africa (VPWA) introduced short term volunteer programmes.

Information below:

2014 Triple Impact activities are designed to bring a sustainable high impact output after completion. Volunteers will be working on a mobile library program supported by VPWA, the Farm of an orphanage funded by VPWA, and a youth training center construction project funded by VPWA.

Equal number of days will be spent on each project within the two week period.

1. Mobile Library Program- Street Library

This is an initiative of bringing literature to the reach of children in deprived Ghanaian communities. Volunteers will help children in multiple villages to read, engage them in literacy games, organize spelling Bees etc to inspire and motivate them. 2. Construction Activity:

Young children in rural communities have little access to training programs to help them acquire new skills. VPWA has commenced the construction of a training centre that will equip young people with skills in ICT, tailoring and varied entrepreneurial programs with sole object of fighting against poverty.Volunteers will be making blocks, laying blocks, fetching water, pulling wheel barrows and support overall construction process.Bring gloves and closed toed shoes.

3. Farm & Agricultural Activity:

In 2012, VPWA commissioned an orphanage with sole objective of offering children with total care and good education. Food is one important provision to keep children growing healthy, nourished and mentally strong. VPWA provide this from an organic farm 5 minute walk from the orphanage. Between June to August, Volunteers will help to develop various organic vegetable beds, seedlings and transplant them. Activities will involve land preparation and planting. Bring gloves and closed toed shoes.

TOTAL PROGRAM FEE.(€600 / $840 / £500) -This includes orientationsaccommodation, meals(3x – Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner), in-country transportation related to the program, Tripe Impact T- Shirt, certificate, field trips and group excursions. Not Included in the cost is airfare, visa, inoculations, entrance fee to excursion sites, personal expenses or other costs such as extra nights lodging and meals due to unforeseen events. Academic credit available for students. (Confirm with your college).

Deposit and Payment

Registration and Program fee payment should be made by bank transfer/Moneygram/Western Union/Paypal/Moneybookers.  Account details will be made available on receipt of application.

Non-refundable Registration Fee of 150 Euros ,is due at the time of application to secure placement.
