The 2014 Stars Impact Awards are now open!

starsStars Foundation was founded in 2001 with the vision of transforming the lives of  disadvantaged children and their communities globally. We believe effective local organisations are best placed to respond to the needs of children in their care, and that well-managed organisations should be given the flexibility and support to decide how to spend the funding they receive.

Our flagship programme, the annual Stars Impact Awards, was developed with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and launched in 2007. The Impact Awards recognise and reward outstanding local organisations working to improve child health, education, protection and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) solutions across the world.
In addition to our two current regions of Asia-Pacific and Africa-Middle East, the Impact Awards are now also open to organisations working in Latin America and the Caribbean.

1. Delivery of programmes
4. Innovation

  8. Greetings.
We are a community based partners in Oloyankalani village in Kajiado County of Kenya registered as a community self help namely NAISULA COMMUNITY SELF HELP. We are Maasai by tribe. We own a piece of land in our home area and would wish to utilise it in developing an early childhood educational center and a kids playground that will benefit children from our area which is basically remote maasai land.  This need arises from the fact that such a facility is not readily available as the small children have to walk long distances for the same. Our community is also growing up with the population of children growing up hence a need for a school. My community (maasai) children have no access to city life hence not experienced with modern plays and games as it is in city children. There is a huge gap technologywise and so a need for interventions.
We would wish to nurture young talent through play and also bring life to these young maasai children whom, due to lack of these opportunities end up wasting time loitering in the bush and of course waste talent and more so loose morale in educational activities due to several hindrances such as long distances, rough terrain  and morning chilling windy weather.
These facts have contributed to low primary school enrollment, early family life for girls( at age 12)which is crucial time for schooling and illiteracy in the general community members.
However, we lack financial and material  capacity to facilitate the program.
It is with this background we seek your assistance and support.
Please if you have the same capacity or can connect us with people with such a thought, Please don’t hesitate to contact. us through the following coordinator’s (Susan Maishupei) number:+254 715 458 459. Or through This email address.Email:suekoil@yahoo.com
Thank you very much for the good deeds you do to children.
