Wonder Years Centre of Excellence (WYCE), a non-Government Organisation (NGO) based in Madina Salam Village in the West Coast Region, on Saturday donated food items to 45 families in three villages. The donated items included rice, dates, Irish potato, oil, milk and sugar.
Registered in The Gambia in 2003, WYCE has been working in partnership with Muslim Aid and the community of Madina Salam since 2008. The NGO has been getting support from Muslim Aid through WYCE and over the years has embarked on meaningful development projects.
Ebrima K Sarr, the chairman of WYCE, while giving a brief history of his organisation and Muslim Aid relationship, thanked Muslim Aid for its continued support to the community. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the food items and make sure the family members benefit from the gesture.
The imam of Madina Salam spoke on the importance of helping the needy people in this holy month. He also prayed for Muslim Aid’s continued support to the needy people. Fatou Mbye, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the organisation for its foresight, adding that the donation came at the right time.
Speaker after speaker heaped praises on Muslims Aid and partners for giving what they called their seasonal aid to Gambian communities irrespective of tribe or religion.
